Why I dropped my corporate career to become an Indie Developer
It all started with realization…
After years of work, I became a Head of Product, directly reporting to the CEO to find that I didn't want to jump to another company to get another bump in salary and a bigger office.
Even if you have a fancy business card, working for a corporation is just exchanging your time for money. Cool, if your goals fit with the company mission, but most of us working for money. Even if you heard “we are family” at work, corporations care only about the revenue and pay just enough to keep employees in offices and lay them off anytime when the company needs to improve its financial reports.
Jumping to another company, to sell my time for a higher price felt meaningless. I wanted to get out of the office and 9-5.
So I decided to jump out of that rat race and started to build my Apps and release them in the AppStore.
In the last few years, my personal app business grew from $13 to more than $50'000 yearly revenue. I’ve created a system everyone can replicate. I'm sharing all I did to work on my hours from anywhere in the world earning more part-time than I was paid working full-time hours in the office.
